K-12 PUBLIC SCHOOLS PROGRAM (K12PSP) 

The K-12 Public Schools Program (K12PSP) provides eligible school districts technical assistance, operation, maintenance planning, and no-cost energy efficiency natural gas storage water heater upgrades. The program also offers a self-installed, low-flow, pre-rinse spray valve, or up to five (5) water heating-aerator faucets.

PROGRAM PARTICIPATION

To be eligible for program participation, the end user must be in SoCalGas’ service territory with an active account, located in South LA, San Gabriel, or San Bernardino. In addition, the end user may not have received a rebate(s), incentive(s), and/or service(s) for the same measure installation from SoCalGas in the previous five (5) years.

PROGRAM PROCESS

Step 1: Initial Outreach
  • Tap into Okapi’s existing connection with districts.
  • Team Up with SoCalGas to collaborate with DAC/HTR areas.
  • Collect leads for potential districts interested in program. 
  • Promote program to professional associations/conference presentations. 
Step 2: Letter of Interest Form
  • K12PSP team connects with an Authorized School Representative (ASR) and completes the Letter of Interest Form. 
Step 3: Audit & Discussion
  • K12PSP team performs a walk-through analysis/audit and provides ASR with suggested direct install equipment upgrades.
Step 4: Agreement Form
  • ASR agrees to upgrades and signs K12PSP Agreement Form.  
Step 5: Water Heater Installation
  • Installations are scheduled and completed.
Step 6: Proof of Installation and Verification Report
  • K12PSP team provides ASR Proof of Installation and Verification Report.
Step 7: Customer Satisfaction Survey
  • ASR completes Customer Satisfaction Survey.

The K-12 Public Schools Program (K12PSP) is funded by California utility customers and administered by Southern California Gas Company (SoCalGas®) under the auspices of the California Public Utilities Commission. Okapi Architecture, Inc. provides marketing support for this program pursuant to a contract awarded to Okapi Architecture, Inc. by SoCalGas. Program funds, including any funds utilized for rebates or incentives, will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis until such funds are no longer available. This program may be modified or terminated without prior notice. The selection, purchase, and ownership of goods and/or services are the sole responsibility of customer. SoCalGas makes no warranty, whether express or implied, including the warranty of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose, of goods or services selected by customer. SoCalGas does not endorse, qualify, or guarantee the work of Okapi Architecture, Inc. or any other third-party contractor, including any trade professional, utilized in connection with this program.  Customers who choose to participate in this program are not obligated to purchase additional services offered by any such contractor.
