The K12PSP provides eligible public school districts technical assistance, operation assistance, maintenance planning, and no-cost energy efficiency natural gas storage water heater upgrades. The program also offers a self-installed, low-flow, pre-rinse spray valve, or up to five (5) water heating-aerator faucets.

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS 

To be eligible for program participation, the end user must be a SoCalGas customer with an account located in South LA, San Gabriel, or San Bernardino County. In addition, have not received a rebate(s), incentive(s), and/or service(s) for the same equipment from any other California Investor-Owned Utility (IOU), states or local third-party energy efficiency program funded by the Public Purpose Program Surcharge (PPPS).

Step 1: Letter of Interest
  • The K12PSP team connects with an Authorized School Representative (ASR) and completes the Letter of Interest. 


Step 2: Audit & Discussion
  • The K12PSP team performs a walk-through analysis/audit and provides ASR with suggested direct install equipment upgrades.


Step 3: Agreement
  • ASR agrees to upgrades and signs K12PSP Agreement.  


Step 4: Water Heater Installation
  • Installations are scheduled and completed.
Step 5: Proof of Installation and Verification Report
  • The K12PSP team provides ASR Proof of Installation and Verification Report.


Step 6: Customer Satisfaction Survey
  • ASR completes Customer Satisfaction Survey.

The K-12 Public Schools Program (K12PSP) is funded by California utility customers and administered by Southern California Gas Company (SoCalGas®) under the auspices of the California Public Utilities Commission, through a contract awarded to Okapi Architecture, Inc. (“OKAPI”). Program funds, including any funds utilized for rebates or incentives, will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis until such funds are no longer available. This program may be modified or terminated without prior notice. Customers who choose to participate in this program are not obligated to purchase any additional goods or services offered by OKAPI or any other third party. The selection, purchase, and ownership of goods and/or services are the sole responsibility of customer.
